Why We Don’t Force Our Brand on Your Video Podcast

You’ve decided you’re going to launch a video podcast. You’ve read all the guides. You’ve done the sums. You’ve rationalised the whole thing, and realised, ok it’s 2026, let’s start now.

The next step is choosing where to record.

We’ll help you hop, skip and jump right over any hesitation you may have in this regard; opt to record in a professional podcast recording studio.

They’ll have the correct cameras, the best lighting, and the best audio recording gear to ensure your podcast looks and sounds brilliant from the off.

That is, of course, as long as they don’t force their branding onto you.

What Does “Forcing Branding” Mean?

Without naming names, we see content filmed in other podcast studios in and around Glasgow, where the microphone covers (those foam things), the backdrop, and the coloured lighting match the studio's branding, not the podcast being recorded in it.

For example, you sit down to record your video podcast, your brand colours are blue and orange. But the microphone in front of your mouth is red. The background behind you is red. And to rub salt into your marketing team’s wounds, the background prominently displays the studio's name. Over and over again in a repeating pattern.

Personally, when I see that, I think “why on earth would I pay to advertise the studio?

Choose a Studio That Makes it About You

The reality is, you’re recording a video podcast because you want the content to be about you, your business, your guests, their stories, etc. So be sure to choose a podcast recording studio that gives you that freedom. Now, all studios have fixtures in place that might be tricky to move around. But at the very least, you should be able to “dress the set”, meaning bringing in bits and pieces that represent your brand and business, displaying them on the set while you record. And look for a studio with screens that let you put up your podcast’s - or your business’s - logo. If they have coloured LED accent lights, ask them to dial the colours to match your brand as closely as possible.

At the Podcast Studio Glasgow, we want our clients to make the space as much about them as possible. So, you have our word; we will never force our branding onto your video podcast.
