Four camera podcast recording setup at Podcast Studio Glasgow

Podcast Studio Glasgow now offers a four camera recording setup for podcasters, businesses, creators and organisations who want their video podcast to look more polished, more dynamic and more useful across social media.

Each camera is a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, giving the studio a consistent, cinematic camera setup across every angle.

The cameras are routed into an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, which means each 1080p camera angle is recorded as its own isolated video file. That gives us far more flexibility during recording and much greater control in the final edit.

In simple terms, your podcast is no longer limited to one wide shot and a couple of basic angles. We can cover more of the conversation, capture more reactions and create a final edit that feels more engaging.

Four angles. One stronger final edit.

1

More coverage

Four cameras allow us to cover hosts, guests, wide shots and reaction angles, making the conversation feel more natural and visually interesting.

2

More control

Because each 1080p angle is recorded separately, the edit is not locked into one live camera choice. We can choose the best angle later.

3

More content

A multi-camera setup gives us stronger options for social media clips, short-form video, trailers and promotional content.

Four isolated camera angles means your podcast can become a better episode, better clips and better promotional content.

Why isolated camera files matter

A basic video podcast setup may give you a single switched video file. That can work, but it also limits what can be done later.

With our four camera setup, every 1080p camera angle is recorded as an isolated file through the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. This means the final edit is not restricted to the live camera switches made during the recording.

If a guest reacts at the perfect moment, we can cut to that. If the host asks a strong question, we can use that angle. If the wide shot works better for part of the conversation, we can use it. If a particular moment needs more pace, we have the camera coverage to make it feel sharper.

This is especially useful for podcasts where the conversation is important, but the visual experience also needs to keep people watching.

Better for podcasts with guests, panels and brands

A four camera recording setup is particularly useful when there is more than one person in the room.

For a two-person interview, it allows a clean host angle, a clean guest angle, a wider shot and an additional angle for variety. For panel conversations, it gives the edit more room to breathe. For business and brand podcasts, it makes the final content feel more intentional, polished and professional.

If your podcast is part of your marketing, reputation, thought leadership or business development activity, the way it looks matters. Good visuals make your show easier to clip, easier to share and easier for new audiences to take seriously.

Designed for social media clips

Most podcasts are not discovered through full episodes alone. Increasingly, discovery comes through clips, reels, shorts and social posts.

Four camera coverage gives us more choices when creating short-form content. A clip can move between the speaker, listener reactions, wider context and tighter moments. That makes the content feel more engaging and less static.

This can be highly useful for raising profile awareness, increasing reach and helping people understand the value of your podcast before they ever watch or listen to a full episode.

  • More dynamic social clips
  • Better reaction shots
  • Stronger trailers and promos
  • More polished video podcast episodes
  • More flexibility in the final edit

A more professional recording experience

The four camera setup is not only about the final video. It also changes the way the recording feels.

With more angles covered, hosts and guests can settle into the conversation without worrying that every moment depends on one camera. The setup gives the production more depth, while still allowing the podcast itself to feel natural and conversational.

The result is a recording that feels more like a professional studio production and less like a meeting with a camera pointed at it.
